Abbas Kiarostami’s ‘24 Frames’ is scheduled to be screened at the Vienna Int’l Filmfest (Viennale) in Austria.

Directed by late-great Iran filmmaker Kiarostami, ‘24 Frames’ is to be screened at the Austrian event which is currently underway in Vienna.

Kiarostami’s ‘24 Frames’ is a response to the paintings and photographs that inspired him, prompted by the desire to hold the frame steady so as to watch each image come to life, each drama play on.

The veteran Iranian filmmaker who passed away on July 4, 2016, following a heart attack at the age of 76.

He is mostly known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer.

Kiarostami has won many awards including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Festival in 1997 for his film ‘Taste of Cherry’.

The late writer-director has been greatly hailed and commemorated at numerous international festivals across the globe.

The 55th edition of Austria's biggest international film event, Viennale, runs for October 19-November 2.
